What is PNP?
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP),
one of Canada’s immigration programs,
has different requirements for approval for
each of its 11 provinces.
The purpose of the PNP is to bolster the economy,
the workforce, and the industry of the state by
recruiting excellent foreign workers.
As a provincial government employment immigration,
you can qualify for permanent residence
without studying abroad through local work.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants who have a valid Alberta work permit at the time of application (no application for implied status or restoration status)
– Work permit received through LMIA
– Work permit (resident visa) that can be obtained according to international trade agreements such as CKFTA
– Working Holiday Work Permit
– Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) after graduation from a school in Alberta
Job Offer
Application Criteria Applicants who are working in an occupation that can apply for Alberta Immigration and who can prove past work experience in the current occupation
PGWP holders must be in a major-related job
Not in Alberta’s high- and low-wage occupations
Language Proficiency
English/French at least CLB 4 for each band
Level of Education
PGWP holders must have completed and graduated from an educational institution designated by Alberta Advanced Education
high school graduate or higher
If you enrolled in the Alberta credential program on or after April 1, 2019, your credentials must be on the Alberta Opportunity Stream List of Alberta Advanced Education Approved Post-Secondary Credentials.
Work Experience
At the time of application, you must be working in an occupation in Alberta that matches your career at the time of application for AINP and at the time of examination.
Recent work experience in Alberta: At least 12 months of full-time Alberta work experience in the past 18 months
Canadian/Overseas Experience: At least 24 months of full-time work experience in the past 30 months
PGWP holders must have at least 6 months of full-time work experience in Alberta within the last 18 months in a current job related to their major.
Applicants who have received a full-time job offer of at least one year from an Alberta employer
Required to obtain trade certificate depending on job type
PGWP holders should check the two ineligible occupation lists in advance because a separate occupation group that cannot be applied for AOS is specified.
In general, work experience during the study permit period is not recognized as Canadian work experience, but paid co-op work experience for PGWP holders can be recognized if the following three conditions are met
